Testimony ends during TVA spark charcoal brief trial

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Testimony has finished during a Knoxville trial
over a Tennessee Valley Authority’s 2008 spark charcoal brief that
fouled a stream and waterfront community.
The arch questioner for a TVA examiner ubiquitous was among
the final witnesses Tuesday. Gregory Stinson testified that an
engineering consultant who conducted a $3 million investigate of the
spill told investigators he was destined by TVA not to “judge TVA
employees and contractors” in last what caused a spark ash
storage pool barrier to give way.
Consultant William H. Walton testified progressing that his mission
was to find and news a technical means of failure. His study
concluded that a low muck covering in a Kingston energy plant pond
caused a collapse.
TVA is fighting a lawsuit from skill owners who contend the
utility was negligent.
